Contracts Manager – Drylining & Facades

The Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing drylining and facades contractor based in Basildon, delivering specialist packages across a range of commercial and residential projects throughout London.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion.

This is a key position within the business, requiring someone who can take ownership of projects, build strong relationships with clients and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circle Manage multiple drylining and facade projects across London.
  • check_circle Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of contracts.
  • check_circle Manage projects from pre-start through to practical completion and final account.
  • check_circle Liaise with main contractors, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • check_circle Manage project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • check_circle Monitor project costs, variations, valuations and commercial performance.
  • check_circle Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams to maximise project profitability.
  • check_circle Coordinate labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
  • check_circle Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • check_circle Identify and resolve technical, commercial and operational issues.
  • check_circle Attend site, progress and client meetings.
  • check_circle Monitor quality, health and safety and compliance across projects.
  • check_circle Ensure works are completed to the required specification and standard.
  • check_circle Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management.
  • check_circle Support the business with tenders, pre-construction and new project opportunities where required.

About You

  • check_circle The successful candidate will have strong experience working within the drylining, facades, cladding or wider specialist construction sector and will be confident managing projects from start to finish.
  • check_circle Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within construction with a strong drylining and/or facade experience.
  • check_circle Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • check_circle A strong understanding of construction programmes, contracts and project delivery.
  • check_circle Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs and variations.
  • check_circle Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
  • check_circle Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • check_circle Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • check_circle The ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  • check_circle Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • check_circle Strong communication and negotiation skills.
