Quantity Surveyor - Facades

The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established specialist subcontractor operating within the drylining and façade sector.

They are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to manage drylining and façade packages across projects in London and Essex. The role will involve full commercial responsibility from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with internal delivery teams, main contractors, and the supply chain.

This opportunity suits a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in specialist subcontracting who is comfortable managing multiple live projects and maintaining strong commercial control on fast-paced construction programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circle Commercial & Contractual Management:
  • check_circle Manage the commercial aspects of drylining and façade packages from tender through to final account
  • check_circle Prepare, review, and submit interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • check_circle Assess variations, loss and expense claims, and change control procedures
  • check_circle Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitability
  • check_circle Provide accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • check_circle Compliance & Governance:
  • check_circle Ensure compliance with contractual obligations (e.g. JCT / NEC forms)
  • check_circle Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
  • check_circle Ensure adherence to company commercial procedures and best practice
  • check_circle Key Project Types:
  • check_circle Residential (high-rise and low-rise)
  • check_circle Commercial and mixed-use developments
  • check_circle Drylining packages (SFS, partitions, ceilings, plasterboard systems)
  • check_circle Façade packages (SFS, rainscreen cladding, insulation, sheathing, fire barriers)

About You

  • check_circle Essential:
  • check_circle Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within drylining and/or façade subcontracting
  • check_circle Strong understanding of drylining systems and façade construction methodologies
  • check_circle Experience working on projects across London and the South East
  • check_circle Sound knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC)
  • check_circle Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • check_circle Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • check_circle Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
  • check_circle Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel between sites)
  • check_circle Desirable:
  • check_circle Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • check_circle Membership or working towards membership of RICS or CIOB
  • check_circle Experience with high-rise residential or complex façade packages
  • check_circle Personal Attributes:
